Meet Cynthia Latney, MSN, RN, NE-BC
Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive
Cynthia Latney joined OhioHealth in June 2021 as our Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive. In this role, Cynthia is responsible for organizing, planning, directing and evaluating all nursing functions and patient care services for OhioHealth. She is highly passionate and eagerly works alongside nursing leaders and other clinical partners to drive consistency in care and ensure an exceptional experience for every patient and their family member . Her extensive and diverse experiences as a healthcare executive provide her with unique perspective in advancing nursing practice, leading innovation and change, , improving clinical and patient safety outcomes, and building diverse and highly functioning teams.
Prior to joining OhioHealth, Cynthia served as Senior Vice President of Nursing Business Operations for Jefferson Health, an academic health system with ambulatory sites serving southern New Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia area. Cynthia previously held multiple leadership roles at Centura Health in Denver, including regional chief nursing officer, chief nursing executive and chief transformation officer, as well as various leadership positions at Hospital Corporation of America in Aurora, Colorado and Texas, and The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Master of Science in Nursing Healthcare Administration from University of Phoenix, where she is currently a candidate for a Doctor of Health Administration (DHA). As a published author, Cynthia contributes to the field of evidence-based nursing practice and high-reliability organizations (HRO) in the nursing field.
Cynthia uses her vast experience to serve others in the community. She has led numerous initiatives to address vulnerable and underserved communities to improve access to care, provide addiction treatment and support services, and programs for the youth. She currently sits on numerous boards and advisories where she exercises her passion for giving back. She currently serves on the ADAMH of Franklin County, American Nurses Association (ANA) Workforce Planning Taskforce, Press Ganey Nursing Advisory Board, Ohio Federation for Health Equity and Social Justice Board (OFHES); Capella University Nursing Advisory Board and have been a board member of the Colorado Center of Nursing Excellence, the Community College of Aurora Foundation, the Community College of Aurora Council, Southern Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce and Colorado Organization of Nurse Leader-Director of Southeast District. In 2017, Cynthia was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the Top 60 CNOs to Know.
