Meet Joy Bischoff
President, Hardin Memorial Hospital and Van Wert Hospital
Joy Bischoff serves as President at OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital and OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital.
Joy has been an inspiring leader at OhioHealth for nearly 29 years. Most recently she held the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Marion General and Hardin Memorial Hospitals. During those years as a clinical leader she gained knowledge and a passion for hospital operations which ultimately led her to a promotion in 2021 to president of Hardin Memorial Hospital.
As a native Hardin county resident, Joy takes pride in serving the community where she was raised. Her primary focus is to keep care local and to leverage excellent quality care as part of a larger healthcare system. Her passion for serving various communities, has given her significant insight into rural health and the crucial role hospitals play in economic growth.
Joy holds a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio Northern University, having first earned her associate degree in nursing from Lima Technical College.
Joy inspires to be a life-long learner and has a desire for mentoring others encouraging them to learn and grow professionally and personally. Because of her love for education, she has held various leadership roles at local colleges and vocational schools including Rhodes State College, Marion Technical College and Tri-Rivers. She also spends time volunteering at local schools participating in the lunch buddy program, science fair judging and speaking to youth leadership cohorts.
As an active member of the community, she serves on the Ohio Means Jobs Workforce Area 8, executive committee and board as well as a board member for the West Ohio Foodbank and the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.
