Meet Mike Ezzie, MD
President, OhioHealth Physician Group
Michael Ezzie, MD, is the president of OhioHealth Physician Group, the employed physician group for OhioHealth. The group employs about 1,400 physicians and more than 100 advanced practice providers in nearly 45 specialties, across more than 300 ambulatory and inpatient sites.
Through Dr. Ezzie’s leadership, he and the team are bridging gaps between acute and ambulatory care to develop the best model of care that our patients experience. He is passionate about building and empowering teams to deliver compassionate, efficient, high-quality patient-centered care.
Dr. Ezzie joined OhioHealth in 2014 as the director of Medical Education at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and was then promoted to the role of Vice President of Medical Affairs for Grant. Prior to becoming president of the physician group, he served as vice president of the Acute Care and Specialty Medicine Service Line at OhioHealth.
He graduated summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. He attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine where also graduated cum laude and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and was a chief medical resident prior to fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Ohio State. During his academic career, he completed grant-funded research in lung disease and served as the internal medicine clerkship director and medical director of the progressive care unit, among other leadership roles. He received numerous teaching and leadership awards and was an active member and leader in the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Ezzie is a trustee on the CAPA Board of Directors and member of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission Board.
He currently resides in Upper Arlington, Ohio with his wife and three daughters.
